Please support your local alumni chapter and send a patronage form in to our treasurer. These funds help us pay for newsletters, cover event expenses and other minor costs.
In addition to our helping support our club operations, members over the years have donated a few dollars extra towards a scholarship fund for Washington state high school students attending Carolina. In August, we invite all the Washington students bound for Carolina to a dinner or brunch to introduce them to each other and let them (and their parents) know they're not alone.
Regarding your matching question:
A donation to the Puget Sound Carolina Club scholarship fund is certainly a fully tax deductible donation, and, therefore, probably eligible for most company matching plans. To cause a little less confusion -- it is probably easiest for the donation to be made directly to the GAA (which is the 501(c)3 organization and of which the Puget Sound Carolina Club is a part). The GAA stands willing to complete whatever form or paperwork a particular company requires to verify the donation and initiate the process whereby the matching funds can be generated. Obviously, a donation made to the GAA for the intention of funding a Puget Sound Carolina Club scholarship would be credited to the Puget Sound Club scholarship fund account.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions regarding donations such as this.
